皆さんこんにちは！
今回は「Mommy Pig at work」というお話です。
これはマミーピッグが働いているお話なのですが、これまた海外（イギリス）らしく、work at home・いわゆる在宅勤務をしているんです笑
また日本語訳は載せていませんが、英語での全文は一番終わりに付けているので、参考にしてみてください！

Mommy Pig at work
■ダディーピッグがお昼ご飯を準備しているところ
Daddy Pig: Yes, as long as you don’t disturb her.
ダディーピッグ：邪魔しなければ良いよ。
“As long as〜”「〜の限り・〜であれば」は普段からよく使うフレーズです。特に今回のペッパのお話のようなことはよくあって、私が仕事をしているときにパソコンの近くでうろつき始めるんですね。
“Can I sit next to mommy?”「お母さんの隣りに座っていい？」
とよく聞かれるので、
“Yes, as long as you don’t disturb what mommy’s doing now.”「今お母さんがやっていることを邪魔しなければ、いいよ。」
と言って返しています。結局ガチャガチャキーボード触ったり（ほんとペッパみたい。。。）して叱られて終わりますが笑
＜応用編＞
You can eat snacks as much as you want as long as you promise to eat the proper food tonight.
今晩ご飯ちゃんと食べるって約束するんだったら、お菓子いくらでも食べていいよ。
■ペッパとジョージがマミーピッグのところに来たとき
Mommy Pig: No Peppa! You mustn’t touch the computer. And George you mustn’t touch the computer either.
マミーピッグ：ペッパだめ！コンピューターを触っちゃだめよ。ジョージもコンピューター触っちゃだめですからね。
この “you mustn’t 〜” 「〜してはいけない」は、子供が小さい頃よく言っていたことです（今も結構使いますが。。。）
しつけのときに必要になってくるかもしれないので、覚えておいて損はないですね。というか、必須かもしれません笑
ちなみに似たような意味で “you shouldn’t 〜”「〜してはいけない」があります。私は意味の強さを基準にして、「絶対ダメ」というときは “must”、「やらないほうがいい」ときなどは “should” というふうに分けています。
＜応用編＞
You mustn’t eat and talk at the same time. Nobody wants to see your mouth full of foods.
食べながらしゃべっちゃいけません。誰もあなたの口の中を見たくありませんよ。
■ダディーピッグがパソコンを直す前
Daddy Pig: Right you are Mommy Pig. But I’m not very good at these things.
ダディーピッグ：了解。でもあまりこういうの得意じゃないんだよね。
“Right you are”は「了解・わかりました」などの意味です。子供が言うときは “right-o!”（ライトーという感じに言います）「わかった！よっしゃ！」というのを聞きますね。

Right you are daddy, I’ll finish my homework now.
わかったよお父さん、宿題終わらせるね。

Narrator: Mommy Pig has a lot of important work to do.
Peppa: Mommy, can George and I sit on your lap and watch you work.
Mommy Pig: Yes, if you both sit quietly.
Narrator: Peppa and George love to work on the computer.
Peppa: Mommy, can we play that computer game, Happy Mrs Chicken?
Mommy Pig: We can play Happy Mrs Chicken later. But now I have to work.
Peppa: Mommy, can we help your work.
Mommy Pig: No Peppa! You mustn’t touch the computer. And George you mustn’t touch the computer either.
Peppa: Yes George, you mustn’t do this.
Mommy Pig: Peppa stop!
Peppa: Sorry mommy, I was just showing George what not to do.
Narrator: Oh dear, the computer is not meant to do that.
Mommy Pig: Daddy Pig! Daddy Pig!
Daddy Pig: What is it Mommy Pig!
Mommy Pig: Daddy Pig, can you mend the computer?
Daddy Pig: Um…
Mommy Pig: I’ll finish lunch while you mend the computer.
Daddy Pig: Right you are Mommy Pig. But I’m not very good at these things.
Mommy Pig: Oh thank you Daddy Pig.
Narrator: Daddy Pig is going to mend the computer.
Daddy Pig: Phm…um, maybe if I just switch it off, and then switch it on again.
Narrator: Daddy Pig has mended the computer.
Peppa: Hooray daddy!
Daddy Pig: Yes, I am a bit of an expert in these things.
Peppa: Daddy, can we that computer game, Happy Mrs Chicken?
Daddy Pig: Maybe you should ask Mommy Pig.
Peppa: Mommy said that we can play it later.
Daddy Pig: Well that’s ok then. But I don’t know where the disk is.
Peppa: Yippee!
Peppa: Now it’s my turn!
Daddy Pig: Now it’s my turn!
Mommy Pig: What on earth is going on? Well, I see the computer is working again.
